12. I am a Canadian Coach and have been coaching/teaching tennis for a number of years but have not been certified. Is there a mean for by-passing the introductory level of certification?
Tennis Canada's Equivalency and Acceleration Clause allows experienced pros, coaches and former players the possibility of accessing our certification programs at more advanced levels.
Equivalency:
Equivalency allows experienced Pros and Coaches to earn the equivalent of Tennis Canada's entry level Instructor Course if they have at least three years of full time teaching experience. In order to attain that level, they are required to attend a half-day mini course.
Acceleration:
Acceleration allows pros, coaches and former high level players to skip to a higher level based on coaching, professional experience and/or playing experience. Upon successful completion of the accelerated course, the individual will then receive additional credit for the preceding levels. Prior to attending the course to which they are accelerated, all candidates are required to attend a half-day mini course for each level over which they are accelerated.
